Welcome to the Nursery Class Page

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to Nursery! The nursery staff are very excited to be starting this new journey with your child and helping them in their learning and development.

Nursery children learn best through play and in the Foundation Stage the pupils follow a practical based curriculum that supports them in achieving the ‘Desirable Learning Outcomes’. Nursery will be learning and exploring through Phonics, Maths, RE, Music, PE and Library time. Nursery children will also be interacting and making those key relationships during their time at nursery.

Reminders:

  • Spare Clothes - Please provide your child with a bag of change of clothes (including socks) in a named bag. This will be kept on their peg.
  • Clothing - Please ensure all clothing is clearly named. The children are required to wear school uniform (white polo shirt, red jumper/cardigans, grey/black trousers/jogging bottoms/skirts) Suitable shoes for running/climbing - Velcro if possible. Suitable outdoor coat with a hood gloves and hat.
  • Tapestry - Learning journals are an important piece to keep as they provide the necessary evidence and support all tracking and development documents. They also show a clear path of the child's learning journey, evidencing starting points, progress and interests. We observe all children in the Nursery and record their learning journeys electronically. Please ensure we have an up to date email address for you as you will be notified each time an observation has been uploaded.
